Introduction
Merchworld specializes in merchandising and branding for the music and entertainment industry.
The idea took form after some of us had seen the differences between how merchandise was taken care of in the USA compared to Europe, especially Scandinavia. We knew that we could do a lot to develop and create a better solution for both the artists and their fans. Action speaks louder than words and in 2005 Merchworld Inc was on to go.

While downloading and sharing music as creative ideas spread through the world, the music industry got scared to death. Instead of adaptation to the development - they unloaded their guns and took legal action against pirates like Napster and Kazaa. Our belief is that fans will find other ways to support their favourite bands and artists. Internet opens up for the foundation of new relations for fans and music- and entertainment related products and services. We want to be apart of that.
Consuming music is easier every day with digital and analogue television and radio as an example. This situation has led parts of the music business to find new ways to survive. While the record sales are dropping in Sweden, focus has turned on tours and events. An mp3 can't replace being in front of a stage seeing your favourite band or artist live. People are more willing to pay for this kind of experience. Back in the days you made records to tour - now you tour to sell records. Communication as marketing is more important than ever. If you can't communicate with your fans on stage, on homepages or communities - it's hard to build a fan base.
Not just a T-shirt
Falling record sales has also led to decreasing tour support and advances to artists. An effect of this is that artist has become more independent from the record companies. If shows are the new thing merchandise is another. Merchandise goes hand in hand with shows - for some bands it's even their main income. Merchandise is also about communication. This is a way to make a statement and illustrate what kind of attitude you as a band or artist stand for. You should not underestimate people's spirit to be a part of something. It's not just a T-shirt - it's about attitude, lifestyle and fashion.
Our Vision
People's call for fashion has grown in the Western Europe. People are more willing to pay for quality and exclusive individual products. Merchandise on the other hand is seen by many as cheap advertisement. Our vision is to change both the artists and the fans attitude about this.
On our path towards this change we work with fashionable brands like American Apparel® and Continental Clothing® to provide a more exclusive range of products. We also work with well-known brands Like Fruit of the Loom® and Gildan® to provide high standard and quality. We try to find new ways to improve how garments are printed and how artwork is placed. We also want to offer an easy and modern web store for our costumers and clients.

Agency
The first step towards a delivery is a conversation with one of our agents. With the agent you put together a statement in which all information concerning your order is included. If you wish we can send you samples of the products you are interested in. These samples will be added to your bill when you place your order, or sent back to us.
Design
Merchworld are aware of that good design and quality products play a decisive role for successful merchandise. Merchandise is about communication. This is a way to make a statement and illustrate what kind of attitude you as a band or artist stand for. We work closely with our clients to determine what kind of merchandise that represent the artist.
Merchworld can design your complete product line or prepare your concepts for press. Separations, film production and digitizing are done by us to ensure that our client get what they asked for.
Merchworld do not only work with ready concepts. We can create unique artwork for our clients. For that reason we act as intermediary to various freelance designers.
Production
Merchworld offers, not only traditional merchandise like T-shirts and sweats, but various accessories like tote bags, pins, caps, belts etc. We work together with different manufactures to provide product we do not produce ourselves. If you need something we will make sure you get it.
We produce all screen printed product in our own facility and have full control over quality and production time. We do small orders from 12 items to big ones of 3000+. We use manual and automatic printing presses and offer up to eight colour prints. We also offer packing, folding and branding of your finished products.
Distribution
Merchworld provides various options to put you merchandise on the market:
Tour - All Merchworld clients have an agent who will help the client to determine what and how much that should be ordered. When needed the agent will help the client to coordinate additional shipments of merchandise during tour. We work with Posten Sweden to provide reliable deliveries where ever you are. Merchworld does not take any percentage of sales for these services.
Online - Merchworld provides distribution through our web store and the opportunity to official online stores. We constantly develop our own e-commerce system to guarantee that our store feature the latest technology. The technical development is powered by Code Odyssey.
Customized stores are a bit different from traditional merchandise stores. With this service your products are not only put in our official web store, an exclusive store is also created to be directly integrated with your official homepage. In this store only your products are available for your costumers to shop. Merchworld deal with all you web store related business - design, set-up, payment and the whole order process like shipment, costumer service and returns. Through a log-in to our administration system on the web our clients can supervise their sales. Merchworld receives a pre-determined percentage of total sales for this service.
Wholesale - Merchworld also offers distribution to retailers. We are building a network of qualified retailers all over Europe.
Partnership
Merchworld has several partnerships with different companies in, as well as outside, the music industry which all helps to increase your sales. We are always looking for new ways to reach the audiences around the world and with our ambition to always develop and reinvent ourselves more and more partners are included into the Merchworld family. And off course we are always happy to share the benefits of these partnerships with our clients!
For example we offer photos of the artist taken by Rockfoto.nu. You choose what photos you think you should have for sale and we provide them as a part of the rest of your merch. This is an exclusive deal between the artist, Merchworld and Rockfoto.nu.
